Stuff the Sleigh 5K Run/Walk – Race Day Agenda

December 17, 2016 : Kids Race : 9:30 am - 5K Start Time: 10:00 a.m.

Hello runners and walkers! Race day is this Saturday December 17th! Thank you for participating in the Stuff the Sleigh 5K. This event supports Veterans Outreach and Toys for Tots.

RACE DAY IS A GO! Please keep in mind that this is a WINTER run. Currently, the Mount Pleasant trail in Stewart-McBride Park is plowed; however, the County Trail is not. The County Trail is snow covered and runners and walkers should dress and prepare accordingly. The weather forecast is predicting a heavy snowfall Friday evening in to Saturday morning. If this is the case, all of the course will be snow covered.

Early Packet Pick-Up:

Friday, December 16th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm Gateway Technical College – 1001 S. Main Street, Racine, WI 53403 Click here to see map (Business Resource Center. You will need to access the Resource Center from the Lake Michigan side off Pershing Drive. Off of Pershing Drive, follow signs for the Racine Building, Conference Center, and Business Resource Center)

DONATIONS NEEDED:

Please bring food donations for the Veterans Outreach and/or toy donations for Toys for Tots. Drop off time is between 8 am and 11 am Saturday Dec 17th at Texas Roadhouse. Those that bring items for our charities will receive a raffle ticket for our door prizes.

Get in the spirit of giving. We encourage you to get your friends, families, neighbors and coworkers involved. Perhaps you could form a neighborhood collection or work collection for the items listed and bring to the event. Large or small, everything counts.

There will be peanuts for sale during the event for $5. All process will go directly to Veterans Outreach. 

Race Day Timeline:

8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. : Packet Pick Up and On-Site Registration

9:30 a.m. : Kids Race

9:50 a.m. : Pre-race warm up

10:00 a.m.: 5K start at Texas Roadhouse (We recommend you arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the start time. )

11:00 a.m.: Raffle drawing/awards

11:00 a.m.: Course closes

Parking:

Parking is available throughout Texas Roadhouse Parking Lot

Restrooms:

There will be restrooms inside of Texas Roadhouse. Restrooms will not be available on the course.

Mile Markers:

Each mile and KM will be marked by signage on the course.

Water Stop:

There will be a water stop about ½ way through the course.

Medical:

There will not be first aid or medical on the course. If at any time, you need assistance during the event please locate one of our event volunteers.

Road Closures:

Roads will not be closed for the race. The route takes place primarily on trail and crosses 2 roads in each direction.

Refreshments:

Complimentary water and snacks will be available for participants near the finish line.

Weather Delay:

The event could be delayed due to dangerous weather conditions; best way to stay in touch will be through our Facebook Page This event will take place rain, snow or shine.
